We remember only too well the anti-apartheid struggle and the inspiration of Nelson Mandela and his colleagues so we have decided to arrange an evening for people to come together and share our thoughts, memories, stories, music – and to simply be together at this momentous time.
WHERE: Sunday Dec 15th, 7-9pm, Clements Hall, Nunthorpe Road, York YO23 1BW
BRING: songs, stories, memorabilia, banners or cloths, drinks (we can make hot drinks) and perhaps a few snacks to share – but coming empty handed is fine too. The most important thing is if you can be there.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN: Chechelele will sing a few songs and get us to join in;
Voice of the Drum will play and we can join in; and there will be an ‘agit-pop’ dance track of some activist songs.
The rest is up to us all – the evening will flow with our mood and recollections.
Please spread the word: all friends of the struggle are welcome.
